CONGRATULATIONS to the amazing Vocational Education Teacher of the Year Belinda Maudson from the Design Centre Enmore.
Belinda has nurtured students undertaking Illustration and Production Design qualifications at TAFE NSW’s Design Centre Enmore, leveraging her professional relationships within the film, television, theatre and events industry – and her ‘never say no’ attitude – to deliver the skills, support and opportunities students need to achieve and succeed.
Also on the night, Design Centre Enmore took out the Large Training Provider of the Year Award. A well deserved win for the DCE team!
2018 VIVID Sydney – Light Houses
Light Houses was displayed in the Royal Botanic Garden and was a great example of how this multi-disciplined education provider works with industry. Students from across arts, design, music, digital and live production disciplines worked together on this ‘real-world’ project to create an ‘unreal’ outcome.
Students welcomed the symbolism of lighthouses and their capacity to chart a course to a safe haven. Their work was inspired by the role lighthouses played over Australia’s history in welcoming successive waves of immigrants to our shores.
2018 VIVID Sydney – Photonic State
Photonic State transformed the colonial facade of Government House, Sydney with a celebration of Australia’s art and cultural iconography. DCE 3D Animation students created the work as an homage to contemporary and modern Australian designers and artists. The work combines sound, art, music, light, animation and Aboriginal perspectives in one marvellous spectacle.
The project is a unique collaborative opportunity for TAFE NSW students to showcase their talents as part of Vivid Sydney — the largest celebration of creativity and innovation on the planet.
