Do you want to build your design skills in drawing,graphics, colour and media, presentation skills, design software, model making, 3D objects, camera techniques and drawing? This is an intensive six month course which introduces the learner to a broad range of design options and aims to develop skills for further design study. The course dovetails into the Certificate IV program. Learners will have the benefit of being taught by industry professionals in a well equipped design environment.

The Advanced Diploma Graphic Design (Illustration) builds skills and techniques developed in the Diploma Graphic Design (Illustration) to create individuals with a strong personal illustrative style who will go on to industry as bespoke designers and illustrators.
Practice at this level is underpinned by the application of visual communication and design theory and history and the ability to critically analyse and synthesise information from a range of sources. Advanced communication, organisational and project management skills are also required.
Practitioners may work in many different commercial and community contexts across both print and digital media.

This qualification will offer skills in simulated workplace environments; including a fully operated film/video studio, prop and scenic workshop and access to the latest computer software. Students enjoy a broad based study program aimed to provide them with multiple skills that can be employed in the film and video industries, theatres, corporate and public events. These skills include storyboarding, art direction, stage management, set dressing, camera operation, video production and editing, set design and construction, prop design and puppetry, costume design and construction, SFX make-up and prosthetics, event design and management.

DIPLOMA LIVE PRODUCTION DESIGN

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who design for live theatre performance. They execute judgements across a broad range of technical functions in the entertainment industry and have a wide range of specialised technical, creative or conceptual skills. They have autonomy in performing and can be responsible for planning, coordinating and evaluating the work of others within broad parameters.

National Code of Practice for Induction for Construction Work
Sets and staging for some performances or events may fall within the definition of construction work. If so, people entering the construction site are required to complete the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (Australian Safety Compensation Council, May 2007).
