CERTIFICATE III DESIGN FUNDAMENTALS

Do you want to build your design skills in drawing, graphics, colour and media, presentation skills, design software, model making, 3D objects, camera techniques and drawing? This is an intensive six month course which introduces the learner to a broad range of design options. It aims to develop skills for further design study. The course dovetails into the Certificate IV multi disciplinary Design program at the award winning Design Centre Enmore. Learners will have the benefit of being taught in a well equipped design environment by industry professionals, working on fabulous and innovative projects such as VIVID Sydney 2017 and 2018, annual collaborations with IKEA and the Enmore Theatre and being a part of the much celebrated Sydney Mardi Gras parade.

This intensive 6 month course provides a broad based integrated learning experience in design exploring colour and media, drawing, computers for design, graphic design, film appreciation and camera techniques, presentation techniques, design research, introduction to film and video, SFX prosthetics and makeup with major projects exploring product/industrial design, architecture/interior design, set design, costume/fashion, textiles and illustration. Learners will have the benefit of being taught in a well equipped design environment at the award winning Design Centre Enmore by industry professionals, working on fabulous and innovative projects such as VIVID Sydney 2017 and 2018, annual collaborations with IKEA and the Enmore Theatre and being a part of the much celebrated Sydney Mardi Gras parade.
New Part Time Option:
This course is also available as a Part Time option for people wanting to explore design whilst working full time. This immersive program  is offered on  Saturdays over a  12 month period covering all the design areas listed above.

This qualification will give you a strong grounding in graphic design skills, as well as an education in a broad
range of traditional and digital illustration techniques. This course will include exploration in the following areas: storyboards, illustrations in technical, architectural, fashion and commercial fields for end uses such as advertising, publications and/or print media, children’s books; development of digital graphics for the web, television, film industries and the graphic novel and comics.  Learners will have the benefit of being taught in a well equipped design environment at the award winning Design Centre Enmore by industry professionals, working with our industry partners on  fabulous and innovative projects such VIVID Sydney 2017 and 2018 and annual collaborations with IKEA and the Enmore Theatre.

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who design for live theatre performance. It offers skills in simulated workplace environments; including a fully operated film/video studio, prop and scenic workshop and access to the latest computer software. Students enjoy a broad based study program aimed to provide them with multiple skills that can be employed in the film and video industries, theatres, corporate and public events.
