WACOM Inkling at DCE: first public demonstration in Australia

Wacom’s brand new product the 'Inkling' was demonstrated for the first time in Australia on Saturday  at the Design Centre Open Day by DCE 3D Teacher Barry Dean.

The Inkling allows a user to digitally capture their drawings from a sketch pad or any other surface as they are being drawn. Once transferred to a computer the drawings can be imported into a program like Adobe Illustrator as editable vector line art.

Barry Dean demonstrating the Wacom Inkling

As an ex-Disney artist and current teacher at DCE, Barry was demonstrating the Inkling with the idea that it is likely to be a useful tool for students studying at DCE next year, particularly in the Concept Art for Digital Media course, the Bachelor of 3D Art and Animation and numerous other courses at the college.

You can see the Inkling promo at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXbBA1DRE84 and there’s a few photos of Barry in action at Open Day on our facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/DCE3D
